I am a writer with a particular interest in food, based in Dubai, UAE. Having been the food editor and restaurant critic for Time Out Dubai, and then at The National newspaper, I am now a freelance writer and frequent restaurant goer.
During the course of my career here in the UAE, I have visited hundreds of restaurants (from the great and the good to the bad and the criminal) and interviewed hundreds of chefs (including one encounter with Gordon Ramsay, where I force-fed him a load of grotty mince pies - and lived). I am also the Academy chair of the Middle East & North Africa region for the San Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants Awards.
